Power BI is robust and ready made tool which analyze data. It is freely available which you can install in your local that let you connect to, transform, and visualize your data. Power BI is faster, simple and enterprise-grade, ready for extensive modeling and real-time analytics as well as customized report development. So people can utilize this tool as a visualization and analysis tool. It can also serve as the analytics and decision engine for group projects, divisions or entire corporations.

Parts in Power BI:

Power BI come up with four parts from Microsoft.

  • Windows desktop application (Power BI desktop) – SaaS (Software as a Service)
  • Power Bi Service
  • Power BI mobile apps for Windows, iOS and Android devices.
  • Power Bi reporting Server

The above four elements are used for different functionalities.

Power BI desktop, Service and Mobile apps are dedicated for create, share and consume business insights in the way that serves them most effectively. The power BI reporting server is dedicated for publishing your reports after creating them Power BI desktop.

Power BI roles:

In the business world, organization designated people with different types of roles like designers, developers, admin, consumers. Power Bi is suitable to every role.

For example, you might primarily use the Power BI service. But your number-crunching, business-report-creating coworker might make extensive use of Power BI Desktop to create reports, then publish those reports to the Power BI service, where you can view them. Another coworker, in sales, might mainly use her Power BI phone app to monitor progress on her sales quotas, and to drill into new sales lead details.

Work Flow in Power BI:

Power Bi begins it work flow by connecting data source and building a report in Power Bi desktop (Windows desktop Application). After Building report in Power BI desktop then publish that report in Power BI service and share it. So, the end user in the service and mobile devices can view and interact with the report.
