History of Power BI:
The first version of Power BI is released on 11th July, 2011. Thierry D’Hers and Amir Netz both are employees at Microsoft working for SQL server reporting team their idea turned into Power BI application by Ron George in the summer of 2010 and named this project as Crescent. Project Crescent was available for public on 11th July, 2011 bundled with SQL Server codename Denali. Later it was named to Power BI it was then unveiled by Microsoft in September 2013 as Power BI for office 365. First release of Power Bi is based on Excel based add-ins, power query, power pivot and power view.
Gartner, in 2019 February confirmed Microsoft as leader in the 2019 gartner magic quadrant for analytics and business intelligence platform as result of the capabilities of Power BI. The power BI functioned in Data Mining, business intelligence, and data warehouse.
